Ara mateix. Tot està per fer i tot és possible

Overview

“All is yet to be done and all is possible”

These words, written originally in Catalan, are not mine, but those of the poet Miquel Martí i Pol. They reflect the essence of my feelings and the need to not falter in my venture to guide artists and care for art. In artwork there resides a feeling of fundamental freedom for a fair society; in the act of doing there dwells a kind of love that is essential if we are to embrace the world in all its harshness. This exhibition is a tiny piece of a greater treasure – the artistic community that surrounds us – and I hope it serves to kindle a desire to band together, to feel, to listen and to see the world as one.

Chus Martínez and Rosa Lleó

Curated by Chus Martínez (Director InstitutKunst, FHNW Academy of Art and Design, Basel) and Rosa Lleó (Director, The Green Parrot, Barcelona), the exhibition Ara mateix: tot està per fer i tot és possible (All is yet to be done and all is possible), is part of Loop festival and counts with the participation of about fifteen artists: Mercedes Azpilicueta (La Plata, Argentina, 1981), Blanca Casas Brullet (Mataró, 1973), Fito Conesa (Cartagena, 1980), Patricia Dauder (Barcelona, 1973), Bernat Daviu (Girona, 1985), Regina Giménez (Barcelona, 1966), Núria Güell (Vidreres, 1981), Anna Malagrida (Barcelona, 1970), Javier Peñafiel (Zaragoza, 1964), Gema Polanco (Valencia, 1992), Tere Recarens, Eulàlia Rovira (Barcelona, 1985) & Adrian Schindler (Périgueux, 1989), Irene Solà (Malla, 1970) and Pedro Torres (Brazil, 1982) with the objective of «creating situations in which to see and be able to talk about their work, place the questions they propose on the horizon of the changing relationships that define our identity, our gender, our rights, our will to continue with the transformation of the form in which we feel reality, life.»
